I had nice days staying at this low-budget hotel. Fairly clean and the staff was amazingly nice and pleasant. There was lots of fabulous meals. Magnificent location right in the heart of madrid, I greatly enjoyed my stay. I had some drinks at Lateral Santa Ana, positioned 200 metres away.

The room at this hostel was fantastic! It felt more like a hotel than a hostel. We had a room with a private bathroom and even a coffee machine for free. The bathroom was clean and we received fresh towels every day. The location was perfect for exploring the city on foot. Next time I visit Madrid, I will definitely stay at this same place. It was the perfect choice for our first trip to Europe. We loved it!
The staff at this hotel made us feel very welcomed, and they were always ready to help. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

I came here for 3 nights and had a really nice stay. The room I stayed in was good basic and air-conditioned with courtyard views. The hotel was in the central setting in the central area. Local fast food option Museo del Jamon was 15 minutes walk away.

The location of the hotel was excellent although it was difficult stopping outside to unload luggage. Parking facilites were nearby and safe. Rooms were comfortable and basic
On our departure we had to catch an early flight and informed them in advance. However on the morning of departure it was difficult to rouse the concierge, all doors were closed and he did not answer for some time. Eventually we tracked him down by returning to the room and calling the reception from there. Otherwise all was okay

Appreciated our stay, can recommend. The property seemed fairly clean and the room was newly decorated and large. The breakfast had a wide array of selection, the food was fab. The staff was well experienced, excellent co-operating, and everything was good. The stay was very comfortable because of the perfect and magnificent location of the property. This hotel was in a really quiet area.

Our experience was really nice. The food offered a wide array of great options. The location was particularly good, as it was close to a vast pedestrianized public square and all the important places such as Prado, Plaza Royal, Plaza del Sol, Reina Sofia.

Fairly clean hotel, I thoroughly enjoyed amazingly nice staff. I had double room with windows overlooking inner courtyard and large bed. The bathroom was clean with a roll-in shower. The location was excellent, close to Main Square. The venue was in a really quiet area, near Anton Martin metro, and many sights, metro- and trainstation Atocha Renfe...

We had a nicely decorated room which was very clean. The beds were made and the towels changed every day. There was a safe and air conditioning in the room. The staff were very helpfull and were able to answer any questions regarding the local area. We had already stayed at the hostal Martin in 2003 as it is central and within easy reach of all the places of interest. We decided to go back for the reasons stated above.

I liked the fact that the Hostal is close to the Metro station and close to the main tourist attactions. Also, there are restaurants and cafes all around. The rooms are clean, comfortable beds, free wifi (and even a computer in the lobby to use for free) The reception is open 24 hours which made it nice returning late at night. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is staying one night or several days in Madrid.
Not really a dislike.....just that I could not connect to the wifi from my room....No problem for me but might not be appreciated by others who are expecting to be able to use their computers in their rooms.

It was my first time in Madrid and I feel that the Hostal Martin Madrid was a great place to stay. It fit my budget, was close to everything including the Metro Station..there were a lot of restaurants and places to have "Tapas" at night. I felt very safe there and would highly recommend it to anyone who is planning to stay in Madrid for a few days. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. There was attention 24 hours at the reception and the staff was very efficient and helpful...
This is really not a big problem, but it was stated that there was free wifi in all parts of the hotel. It is free and they have a computer to use but I could not connect to the internet from my room. I did not mind sitting in the lobby to connect but some people might have a problem with that.

We thoroughly enjoyed this cheap hotel. Had newly remodelled double room with private bathroom attached, free tea. Having a hair dryer, a bidet and fresh towels was a bonus.

The room has new furniture. Safe is quite useful. The bathroom is well equipped. Windows look at inner court - so there is no traffic noise.
Part of the hotel is still under constuction - the room is placed there and it is noisy from 8 am. One long pillow for bed for 2 is unusual and not comfortable. Door in bathroom doesn't have any lock.

Great location, close to the center and the big museums. The water pressure in the shower was strong.
Very small room, not like in the pictures. Uncomfortable and small bathroom with no ventilation.
